Prayers

Psalm 51- A prayer of surrender

Have mercy on me, O God,
    according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
    blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
    and cleanse me from my sin!

3 For I know my transgressions,
    and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
    and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
    and blameless in your judgment.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
    and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
    and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
    wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
    let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
    and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
    and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
    and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
    and uphold me with a willing spirit.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
    and sinners will return to you.

Prayer of surrender

Lord Jesus, I gladly surrender my life, my heart, and everything that I am to you. I open all of the deepest recesses of my heart and invite the Holy Spirit into my heart. Lord, I give you my life, heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. I surrender to you all of my past, my heartache, my fears, my worry, doubt, and anxiety. I ask you to wash me white as snow from my sins and I ask you to wash me clean. I surrender my life into your loving arms. Lord, open the doors that you want to open and close all of the doors that need closing. Please lead me on the narrow path that leads to eternal life. Amen!

Prayer for healing

Heavenly Father, you know our hearts and you know our lives. Lord, only you can heal my hearts and life. I ask you now to come into my heart and heal what ever needs healing. I accept Your unconditional love and Your powerful healing hand. Restore me of any joy or strength that has been taken away from me. Replace the anger, pain, and sadness with your amazing love and gentleness. I believe that there is healing in your name. You are my Lord, my healer, and my friend. Amen.

Prayer for freedom

Lord, today by your strength, I choose to release all of the things that have tried to hold me back. I release the past and all bitterness and sadness that was formed. Jesus, I embrace your grace and power in which we are healed, I release any heartache from the past so that I may move forward into the plans and blessings that you have for me. Please provide me strength, in Your mighty name, Amen!

Prayer of repentance

Almighty Father in Heaven, I have sinned against your perfect commandments and your perfect word. You have created your commandments so that we may be guided toward a better life, I am sorry that I sinned against your word. Lord, please forgive me in the name of Jesus. By the power and blood of Jesus Christ my Saviour, I repent and turn away from those sins. Amen.

Prayer of thanksgiving

Lord, there are so many things that we have to be thankful for! There are so many things that we take for granted that many others wish they had. Father, please open our eyes so that we may see the blessings that you have given us and that we may see the blessings that are to come. Thank you Lord for all of the amazing things that you have done in my life, even the smallest things. Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to free us from our sins. Thank you for your unconditional love, your love is the greatest gift of all, in Jesus name, Amen!

Prayer to forgive others

Lord Jesus, you tell us in Matthew 61:4-15, that we must forgive all others if we also want to be forgiven by our Heavenly Father. Today, I come to you in prayer and release all hatred, grudges, and anger that I hold against any family, friends, or strangers. I ask you to help me forgive all others who have done wrong to me, especially the ones who have not apologized. Luke 17:4 tells us that even if someone is not sorry, we must forgive them. Lord, I forgive all others for their wrongs against me, please place the love that you have for them in me and let my heart flow with love and forgiveness, as you have forgiven our sins and loved us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Morning Prayer

Lord, we start our day off in prayer knowing that the best way to begin my day is through prayer. We pray that today you will protect us from anything that is not sent from you. Ephesians 6:11 tells us to put on the full armor of God so that we may stand against the schemes of the devil. Father, you are our firm foundation and I pray that your Spirit will strengthen us throughout the day, please give us the strength that we may need to face whatever today brings. Amen!
